The date filter on Jooble helps you find the most recently posted vacancies. To use it effectively, it helps to understand how Jooble handles dates — because two different dates are involved in every job listing.
Two Date Algorithms
When you browse vacancies on Jooble, two separate dates are used:
- Date of publication on Jooble — the date when the vacancy was indexed and appeared on the Jooble website.
- Date of publication on the original source — the date when the vacancy was first posted by the employer on the original job board or career page.
The date filter in the search settings sorts vacancies by the date they appeared on Jooble. However, the date shown inside the job description reflects when the vacancy was published on the original source site.

Why a Vacancy May Appear Old
You may notice that a vacancy filtered by "Last 24 hours" shows a posting date of several days or weeks ago inside the job description. This is normal and happens because:
- The vacancy was already posted on the employer's website or job board some time ago.
- Jooble indexed and added it to our platform only recently.
- The filter reflects the Jooble indexing date, while the job description shows the original posting date.
This does not mean the vacancy is outdated — it simply means there was a delay between when it was posted on the source and when Jooble discovered it.
Tips for Using the Date Filter Effectively
- Use Last 24 hours or Last 3 days to see vacancies recently added to Jooble — these are the freshest results in our index.
- Don't dismiss a vacancy just because the date in the job description looks old — it may still be active on the employer's side.
- If you want the most complete picture of available vacancies, try All time and sort by relevance instead.
- Set up Job Alerts to receive new matching vacancies as soon as they appear on Jooble — no need to filter manually.
